Cartridge Pumps have the advantage of an easily removable motor for cleaning or replacement, without having to replace the entire pump. In fact, the motor cartridge is the same size in all models, except the 1250, so upgrading to a larger capacity is a snap. These basic cartridge pumps can be combined with a float or Ultima switch for automatic operation.
