Almost half a century later, the same substance has resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet contaminated and sealed by the catastrophe. Extraterrestrial corporations and resistance groups fight for control of the substance. The player will infiltrate Rubicon as an independent mercenary and end up in the middle of a fight for substance with corporations and other factions.
